The Vessel “Born To Rhumb”

12 Passenger, Coast Guard Certified, Maine built to the highest
specifications and boasting a Caribbean flair that will take you
island hopping at a speedy 20 knots.

The Trip (Seasonal 12/15 - 7/15)

A full day on Born To Rhumb can be up to 8 hours long, or less if the guests wish, but keep in mind that an excursion to the British Virgin Islands (BVI) means we need to be back to clear Cruz Bay US Customs by 5 pm. Guests may decide on their own itinerary (we reserve the right to veto anything that might be dangerous), and we are happy to suggest how to make the most of the day depending on time, wind, and weather.

We can suggest great snorkeling spots, and we provide snorkel gear for all onboard. Born To Rhumb has a large cooler, always stocked with 3-4 varieties of beer, soft drinks, and bottled water. Guests usually enjoy stopping for lunch along the way at places like the wild “Willy T’s” in the harbor at Norman Island, Cooper Island Beach Club, or Foxy’s on Jost Van Dyke. However, we do have many groups who want to bring their own lunch and/or snacks, and we have ample room in the cooler for this. Post-lunch, the Captain mixes up a batch of “Painkillers” from his secret recipe for all onboard.

The Cost

Please e-mail for rates and availability

Our rates include all drinks onboard, all customs fees into and out of the BVI, and all snorkel gear. The only extra cost guests should expect is the cost of lunch and/or snacks wherever they choose to stop, or any cost for lunch/snacks brought onboard for cruising.

Documentation

New Homeland Security rules demand that all passengers going into and out of America have a valid passport as of December 31, 2007. We must also efile all passengers with Homeland Security the day before we go on an international voyage (a trip that includes the BVIs). Therefore, for every guest, a day or two in advance, we will need: full name, gender, origin country of passport, passport number, and date of birth.
